Corsetry Class

April 13, 2012

As promised, pictures of the corset I made in my short course class.

We all based our corsets on a basic block from I think 19th century corset, and adjusted it to our mesurements. Consisting of two layers, one in twill and one in my chosen fabric, a bamboo satin. The dummy is a bit small, making it look a tad wobbly (why would a dummy need a corset anyway,)  but I won’t be able to have it one a person for a photoshoot anytime soon unfortunately.

I need to be making another one over the summer so I don’t forget how we did it, practice makes perfect, haha. If I get the time I want to add some beading on the front, thought I’m always one for simplicity. Making a corset is patience, there is alot of hand stitching on this. However I can’t express how happy I am to have done this and finally learnt how to make one, a  long time goal achieved!

Drawings~

June 3, 2011

Thought i’d post some recent drawings.

This First Lord of the Rings fanart I’ve made. I’m normally not comfortable making fanarts, since there tend to be so clear opinions on how this and that should look like, but I just recently read the books (better late than never <,< ) so I where really inspired to draw something.

This is my own interpretation of Galadriel, yet, she turned out a little more “greek” than first planned, I imagined her to be a little more divine, and to have a staff.

I know she’s supposed to have golden hair, but when I try it paint somehing yellow, it turnes out horrible, so I wanted to stay safe. I’ll refer to the quote ~for its gold is touched by some memory of the starlike silver of her mother~

The peacock feathers turned out a little too sloppy, but that’s what you get for being rushed. tsk tsk.

Tools: Drawing pens, ecoline ink, water colors, markers, colour pencils, and gel pens.

Éowyn is one of my favorite character in the books, so when I startet this lotro fanart roll, I had to include her of course!

You might notice the lack of the horse and celtic symbols, often associated with the rohans, which is simply that whenever I tried with the celtic swirls and twists, it looked like a mess. And horses, don’t ge me started on horses. xD So I did a art nouveau theme instead, though it fitted nicely~

I’m fond of this drawing when I’m looking at it from a distance, but when I see all the mistakes I did when iking, i’m not so satisfied.  I laugh when i see the sword. xD  On the sketch she didn’t look so angry and her eyes didn’t look like they where squinting so much.  Haha , there will be one day when I’ll learn not to be so rushed when inking. I have no patience what so ever.

Tools: Colour pencils, markers, ecoline ink, drawing pens.

I’m in a drawing and sewing mood these days, more to come!

Lady of the Hours

March 6, 2011

My cousin’s daughter asked if I could draw her a fantasy picture here the other day. Of course I wanted, haven’t done a comission in ages.

Water colours, ink and markers.

Lady of the hours, a reappearing theme of mine. Need to draw more architecure for practice thought.
